Nest Pro Finder
A redesign of a Nest Pro Finder tool to be more robust as it’s a part of the larger “Do It For Me” strategy on nest.com.
Project Background
Nest launched a new and expanded “Do It For Me” campaign strategy that targeted wider audience, encompassing people who could do it themselves but didn’t have the time or rather had an input of a Pro. As part of this campaign, the Nest Pro Finder needed a big refresh that would improve the usability and experience of the tool.
Before
Opportunities
We had an opportunity to create a more intuitive Nest Pro Finder experience, one that teed up the promise of the “Do It For Me” strategy that is part of the ongoing nest.com evolution. The ultimate goal was to captivate and explain to customers that Nest isn’t just a DIY product. We wanted it to be more than a Pro Finder, underlining the communication that when it comes to building out a fully connected home, having the input of a Pro is important.
1. Reframe Nest Pro services through thoughtful UX design.
We need to show that Nest Pro Finder conveys reliability and isn’t just a DIY product. A standalone website that includes a robust search experience and features such as filters, geolocation functionality, and user reviews helps alleviate usability issues.
2. Monetize the space.
With the new design, there are potential valuable real estates on the website that would allow for a featured banner ads based on geo-targeted service areas.
3. Highlight the value proposition for working with a Nest Pro.
We need to convey the values of the Nest Pro services through the site experience and explain to a consumer how it could make their experience with Nest even easier.
Research
We conducted competitive analysis and desk research on the online installation services offerings. There are multiple platforms that users can easily opt for. Some of these competitors include Home Advisor, Thumbtack, Task Rabbit, and Yelp.
Some observations from the research show that many services require the users to log in and are asked multiple questions before they can start searching. This created some annoyance for the users.
